Belfast Veterinary Care is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated veterinarian specialising in Internal Medicine to join our team. Responsibilities will include diagnosing and treating complex medical cases, collaborating with our veterinary team on challenging patient care strategies, and conducting thorough examinations to formulate accurate diagnoses.

 

The ideal candidate will possess specialised knowledge in areas such as oncology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, nephrology, and cardiology, enabling them to deliver comprehensive care tailored to individual patient needs. Criteria

Essential Criteria:

  • Advanced Qualification:

    • Hold a Certificate, Diploma or equivalent degree in Small Animal Internal Medicine from a recognised veterinary body.

  • Experience:

    • Demonstrate experience in working up Small Animal Internal Medicine cases.

  • Continuing Education:

    • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with the latest advancements in veterinary internal medicine.

  • Interpersonal Skills:

    • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, referring veterinarians, and other specialists in a team-based environment.

  • Advanced Diagnostic Skills:

    • Proficiency in advanced diagnostic imaging techniques e.g Ultrasound, Radiography and CT, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of Internal Medicine cases

  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration:

    • Experience collaborating with other specialists (e.g., soft tissue surgeons, oncology) for comprehensive patient management.

  • Client Education and Communication:

    • Ability to educate and communicate effectively with clients regarding expected outcomes, and postoperative care.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Advanced Soft Tissue Surgery Training:

    • Extensive post-graduate training specifically focused on Small Animal Internal Medicine, including internships or residencies

  • Research Experience:

    • Engagement in clinical research or scholarly activities related to Small Animal Internal Medicine cases, with publications or presentations at conferences.

  • Leadership and Teaching Experience:

    • Involvement in teaching and mentoring students, interns, or residents in Small Animal Internal Medicine.
